Only the "Rose Bowl Year" saw more apps.

That info just ruined my day. More applicants = less of a chance of getting accepted

well population is increasing everyyear so thats bound to happen:D

again? every forum has a "increasing app." thread. i think i am ruined. ERgggggggg, i should have applied to UC, Riverside. T___T

Does anyone know when Northwestern is posting up decisions on our internet accounts?

Nopers. End of March is all I know.

Did any college applicant percentage go done this year? Psh, this just brightens my day ... not.

Yale was down 1% in applicants, but otherwise applicants were up almost everywhere. Pton up 19%, Harvard 15%, Cornell 14%, Brown 10%, Dartmouth 8%, Duke 7%, Gtown 6%, Columbia 5%...Cornell and Princeton went up largely because both just got on the common app...

How is that?? Is the class of '05 just smarter than years before and shooting for more prestigious schools, or what???

No, this is just one of the biggest graduating classes ever. See: BABY BOOMERS.

others went up by thousands...dear god..i'm glad nu only went up a couple hundred

"Cornell and Princeton went up largely because both just got on the common app..."

If Cornell leapfrogs Northwestern in US News ranking only because of that (though we probably can't say that's the only reason if that happens), it will just show how flawed the ranking is. A school is all of a sudden better because it switches to common app?? I wonder if Northwestern will play the stupid ranking game in near future.
