April 15th - really?

Does NU actually release decisions that late? Or do they just say that and then release them earlier?

SESP-hopeful 2015 (I actually applied into the program because it had my major, not because it was easier...)

No, not really, and not sure where that came from. By the end of March.

From the NU Undergraduate Admissions website;

Regular Decision Applicants

Thank you for applying to Northwestern! We will be contacting all regular decision applicants in the coming weeks to confirm that your application is complete. If your application is missing any required component, we will give you ample time to submit the missing information. Candidates for freshman admission will be notified of their decision by March 31.

I have seen it around, Princeton Review and some other places

^^^^And you believe “Princeton Review and some other places” over what’s written on the NU Undergrad admissions web site…:rolleyes:

My D got an email stating they would announce by April 15th, so it has been thrown around. I can’t imagine they would wait that long but we have it in an email.

I can imagine that they might have been swamped by the increase in applications, so maybe they have had to slip the decision date. It sounds possible, but I hope not for the sake of all who are anxiously awaiting your decisions!

thank you, I think the misunderstanding came as my misinterpretation of “by April 15th”

I applied as well. I’ve only read/heard around early April. My brother is an Alum/ Interviewer for prospective students and he told me the same thing.

As someone above me stated, the undergraduate website says that applicants will hear by March 31.

I’ve been reading that NU usually releases around this time for the last three years… Hopefully this implies NU releases decisions Friday??

isnt the national dedline april 1st? im pretty sure every school has to notify you by that day because you have to decide by may 1st

i know some schools notify after april 1. the only one i can think of is pomona though
