I’m assuming the next batch of scores come out on Wednesday the 6th at 8am CST?
English 36
Math 36
Reading 34
Science 34
A quarter of me is telling me to retake it for that science section… if I want to pursue a career in medicine/dentistry will this score really hinder my chances? Just curious.
@brandbest1 A 34 is still a great score
@brandbest1 No.
Hey guys I haven’t received my scores yet, but I have a weird problem, I can click view scores but then the following message pops up.
"We’re sorry. We know you are anxious to see your scores, but they cannot be viewed at this time.
We have received and processed your answer sheet, but there are still some quality assurance steps to complete before your scores can be reported. This includes resolving situations such as incomplete test form information on the answer sheet or test administration questions.
We will add scores each week as these situations are resolved, usually each Wednesday and Friday. Our goal is to report all scores within 8 weeks after the test date.ACT will notify you by email when your score report is ready."
Has this happened to someone before, and if it has, can someone with this experience share what it means about the availability of my scores.
-Thanks so much!
Hey Guys! I got a 35 composite on this ACT and i have a 2260 on the SAT. Because I am an Asian Male and I’m planning on applying to ivy leagues, should I retake these standardized tests?? My GPA is kinda low (4.2/4.5).
@yaytest33 No.
@ZainSD please elaborate!!!
I made a stupid mistake and sent my ACT scores from this test to 4 colleges using the free reports. I got a 2190 on SAT earlier, so if my ACT doesn’t match up or isn’t as good, will this affect me? Also how do you guys feel about the curve for reading and science?
For those with a 33+ asking if they need to retake: No. The only reason you would need to retake is if someone kidnaps your parents and says he will kill them unless you retake.
@yaytest33 @outlooker @brandbest1 you cannot be serious. Any student with a composite of 30+ is in the TOP FIFTH PERCENTILE (again, here is the link to that chart if you are further interested in seeing why your anxiety is completely irrational http://www.actstudent.org/scores/norms1.html). You both have EXCELLENT scores that are FAR AND ABOVE the millions of other students taking the ACT. If you are still concerned that your score isn’t adequate, go and look at your top choice schools’ Common Data Set, and I can almost guarantee you that your score will be in the interquartile range for admitted students.
For goodness sake, save your time and money and do not retake this exam - it is completely unnecessary.
Frankly, if you have a 30 composite or above and you are asking if you need to retake, you are cluttering the thread. You’ve already polished this component of your college application. Be happy with your score and go work on making sure the other components of the app are solid.
Sorry for my second rant, but I can’t stress this enough.
Every college admission officer will tell you it’s an “holistic approach” and a perfect 36 /2400 will not guarantee you a spot on Ivy League. I just went through this process with my S1 and let me tell you, college admission is random. You never know why you got into one school (Berkeley) but rejected by another one (UCLA). After you score 32 or more, go work on your essays, ECs, summer activities, or participate in some competitions of your interest/strength. If you want to spend more time on CC, go look through individual top university thread, then you’ll know there’s not much difference between 32/34/36.
@yaytest33 You think that a 4.2/4.5 is low?
I can’t tell if you’re joking or you’re actually being serious.
is there any chance scores will be posted before Wednesday ??
@andres07 nope… You can check everyday but it’s highly unlikely
No.
@yaytest33 This is why I hate this website
@immersed Agreed. This is completely retarded.
@DarkEclipse Like if ur score or gpa aren’t perfect ur life isn’t ruined LOL
@immersed Hahaha xD Exactly. We’ve got bigger problems.
