Probs not taking this again, state doesn’t require. I just wanted to take it to see what I’d get.

Only did 2 practice tests w/o science cold.

English - 35
Math - 31
Reading - 30 (lower than practice tests but w/e)
Science - 27 (lol)

Essay - 11 no counter-argument

How the hell do you get an 11 with no counter-argument? I did everything the books told me too and it was 2 and a quarter pages long and I got an 8

up from my 34 last timee ^.^ thank you lord!

@Mtv: I just wrote the way I normally do, made sure I had a crapload of examples, and filled up 3 1/4 pages.

Really, it’s just length.

I would just like to remind everyone on this page not everyone is a genius. You make people feel worthless when you complain about a 32-36. A lot of us work hard but just don’t get the return from our work. Some of you are just natural geniuses which is awesome but it doesn’t give you the right to belittle others. A lot of times those who you hurt are people that have put a lot more time into it than you ever have. I personally got a 32 but it doesn’t really matter and I’m not going to brag about it. I had to work really hard. My first score was a 28 so I really buckled down and spent about 20 hours studying. Just wanted to point that out to everyone. Please think about what your saying before you post it.

Well this sucks haha. I got my hopes up on my science section after getting every single question right that we talked about in the ACT Science thread, but apparently not.

Composite - 33

English - 34
Math - 34
Reading - 34
Science - 31

I really wanted that 34 :[ one more dang point!

Also, two questions: In comparison to the February test, what do you think the difficulty of this April test was and what should we expect out of the June test?

Composite: 30

English: 30
Reading: 29
Math: 28
Science: 34

Science I know for sure I can redo, Math is something I should have done much better, but wasn’t prepared as solidly and reading also… Was very surprised about the 30 English, though it was simple but not that much so… will be retaking in June, Im happy with my 30 but want a 32… Ik I can do it, but preparing for speed reading and many practice tests… maybe even a 33 or 34

I’m a little tired of this “don’t make people feel bad about themselves” argument myself. I can neither be happy nor unhappy for a score I make because it could make someone feel bad or make it seem like I’m bragging, so I keep my mouth shut about my test grades. Meanwhile, if one out of ten times at my school, someone makes a higher score than I did on anything, they can jubilantly yell “I made higher than she did.” And their idea is that I should be honored that they want to compare themselves to me?

To whom am I supposed to compare myself? Should I settle for what everyone else can do? Should I be satisfied if I made less than what I expected myself to make? Is it bragging if I say no? When am I allowed to speak on my own behalf?

If I make you or anyone else feel bad because I am in competition with what I feel I should be able to make, is it my fault? Shouldn’t you worry about comparing your score to the best you can make, and let me worry about comparing my score to the best I feel that I can make? If you are proud of your score, great! Let me continue to work until I am satisfied with mine. And if I make you feel bad because I am not yet proud of a score that is higher than yours, perhaps it is an issue that does not involve me after all.

@First

I would also like to remind you that you’re on College Confidential.

This says it all. I’ve yet to see anyone with a higher score put down anyone who scored lower. It’s those who scored lower putting themselves down, and that’s not something anyone (else) can change.

Congrats to all who are happy or otherwise done. Good luck to all who are in the process of trying to improve scores.

I completely agree. My friend got a 28 (I thought for sure he was 30+) and was upset about it. One of his friends got a 23 and told him “If you think a 28 is bad, what does that mean about me?” It may seem like she has a point, but everybody has their own standards and if you haven’t figured that out by now, it’s time you do.

I want to go to Bowling Green (Ohio) and that’s abouve average for that college, so I have something to show. It’s the #1 college to go to if you want to be a teacher (well there’s others like Duke and UNC Chapel Hill but those cost way too much $$$$$ and are near impossible to get in for me since I’ve had a bad high school history and GPA, so BGSU is perfect.)
