@first: also please think about what you’re saying before you say it.
Not everyone who complains about a high score is a genius. Maybe someone worked really hard to get a 34 and missed by 1 point in 1 section. Maybe someone scored decent last time but invested hours to raise it a bit - and wasn’t rewarded. High-scorers feel just as terrible when others can’t sympathize with them and are told that they aren’t allowed to complain. It isn’t rational.

@Crest1, don’t call yourself stupid! I have yet to crack 30 on the ACT in Math. It’s killing me because it’s the only thing holding me back from a 35 or 36. We all have different strengths, and you are not stupid.

^^ Haha OK it’s just that I think I am and I’m a horrible test taker, but I actually did expect to do well in math. I always run out of time (I was literally watching the clock go from 10 seconds to 0 as I was bubbling in the last 5 questions.) And compared to my friends, they got around ~30-32.

If I can get a 30 then BGSU would give me an extra $2000 in addition to the automatic $3000 that I would get :D

I like how people are joining just to post in this topic, it’s so funny to see all the “Join Date: Apr 2011 and Posts: 1”

Do you have time to retake, or was this your last chance? For the April test, I finished math for the first time. I worked the answers in the book and marked my answers on the answer sheet after every two pages. I skipped the ones I didn’t know and when my two pages were ready to be marked, I checked the ones I skipped to see if the answer was any clearer. If not, I guessed. In this way, I was able to choose the ones I guessed on instead of quickly marking the last several questions when time was up. This time I only guessed on five, but I finished before time was called. Hopefully, I did better, but I’m one of those who has yet to get scores back. :(

tbh, I thought the April ACT was way easier than the practice stuff I did from the red book and PR. I was consistently scoring 28-29 on the practice tests and ended up getting 31. I studied for about a week before the test and this was my first time taking it, so I’m satisfied :)

I could retake it in June if I can, but I can’t next year because literally every weekend I will have cross country, unless I take it in like December but will colleges still care by that time? But idk if I would want to, but I should talk to my counselor first and see what she thinks. I only got a high score on math because I’m naturally good at the subjects that they give us, anything pre-calc and above just shoot me instead. And I do hope you get your scores soon!

Bummer!! I miss UF honors requirement by so little first sat now this…

By the way this was my first ACT

I got a 32 composite for my ACT dunno my writing score yet
math was my best: 34
reading: 33
english: 32
science: 30 haha guessed on the last four

UF honor requirements is a 33 composite… -___-

36 English, Math, Science
34 Reading
I don’t know about writing yet.

Does anyone know how important writing is? I have a 36 right now and I’m pretty sure I didn’t write a 12 essay. Will colleges care if I get a 36 composite but low on the writing?

Does anyone else think the Science Reasoning section on the ACT is extremely easy in comparison to the other sections? It’s just interpreting graphs, tables, and other information.
