when i was waiting for my ed decision from another school i played boggle with my mom.

i'm on the west coast so i won't even be home from school by then!! ha!

actually that's gonna make for a rather awful last two classes

pfft no ones going to school on those days!
but i think i just might, especially if i have weight training last, so i can get energized and relaxed.

I will wait until my birthday, before I open all my college decisions.

Reading this makes me so happy I applied SCEA.

haha congrats ephemearl. i'm thinking about not checking any of my decisions online and just waiting for the letters. then lights some candles and do some rain dance or something.

then i'll open the letters one by one with a knife. and then if i don't get in -- well.

nah. it won't be that bad. at least i can still try to transfer the next year. but if i get in i'm just going to walk outside of my house and look at the sky, then start walking just really casual with a classy swag and wave to my neighbors, because -- hey -- i'm in yale. now.

Denebola, I am also a Potterphile haha.
I even wrote an application essay on Harry Potter's influence on me! I think it worked well because it is something I am so passionate about.
I haven't yet seen the Yale campus (I am going down there on the 8th of February) but if it is anything like Hogwarts I will immediately fall in love.

You wrote your essay on HP? Bamf.
Would you mind PMing it to me, I'd love to read something like that! haha

I can assure you that Yale is very much like Hogwarts, so much so that when you go on the tour (which I assume you'll be doing when you go...) they'll take you into Commons, which is the main dining hall and the tour guides always talk about how it is equated to the Great Hall. Clearly Cambridge and Oxford are even closer matches (especially since parts of HP were filmed at Oxford...) but since Yale is modeled after the two...

Basically Yale is just breathtakingly gorgeous so enjoy your trip!

Although I obviously haven't read your essay so I can't judge, I'm hesitant about that topic because it's easy to end up writing more about Harry Potter than yourself. Also, tons of people can write about Harry Potter.

If your essay is such that if you can drop it in the hallways of your high school (or one of your classes if you have a huge high school) without your name on it, and people will know you wrote it, it's a good college admissions essay. Otherwise you're not telling the admissions committee anything unique about yourself. You're just another teenager who likes Harry Potter. There are many of those.

Seems like a lot of us have birthdays in April- mine's the 10th.

I'm definitely checking online, since a couple days into April my mom and I are flying out to visit wherever I'm accepted.

lol, at first I thought you wrote "whenever I'm accepted" !!! haha

Who else is going to be out of town for the 31st/1st etc.?

I'm going to have to look for a computer in the airport when admissions come out.

I'm an April child, too.

Go Aries!

Yeah, I turn 18 on April 1st. For real, no joke.

Imagine you host a party and no one turns up thinking its a april fools joke :p

maeliz12's first birthday.

Mom calls dad at work.

Mom: "HONEY I'M GOING INTO LABOR!!! COME QUICK"
Dad: "Don't play like that." Hangs up phone

^ Lmao 10char

Will I wait?
What are we gonna do on the 31st
