I was thinking. These colleges occasionally like to play pranks or make their letters amusing - EG the really huge YOU'RE IN! or MIT doing it on pi day and second - what are the chances that one of the Ivies have some form of April fool's prank? Not neccesarily.

"Congratulations!

April fools"

but something like pretending that their systems are down.

Unlikely I know, but it could be something for us to think about over the next week (try forget about the actual decisions :))

Thoughts?

Well, it might seem like they care about their reputation too much to do smth like that, but I don’t think the Ivies reputation can be ruined by anything…
And also, some people are way too sensitive, so, like someone has already said in another thread, a person could literally die of aneurysm because someone decided to be funny I only hope they don’t do that to me :D

It would be acceptable the other way around…

"Dear TheYankInLondon,

there were may talented applicants this year and sadly we are unable to accept so many qualified applicants… blah blah blah … However we have decided to admit you to the Harvard Class of 2014!

Yeah, thats what I mean. Nothing blatant, merely an implied fool?

They wouldn’t do that because this is what the adcoms do for a living do turn it into a joke would be a bit insulting to them as the group of people who in essence are one of the most important parts of the university… It’s still a funny hypothetical though…
