inskeletonrock, how can you possibly manage having 9 IB subjects?? Which ones are you counting for your diploma?

Everyone, how many AP's does your school offer?

isnt IB like "international baccaloreate" or something

It's simple. I only choose 6 for my diploma. 4 HL 2 SL or 3 HL 3 SL.

It's probably going to be English, History, Biology, (Math), Psychology, Spanish, (Chemistry)

with only one of the ones in parenthesis.

DMRennel, I believe you've doubled the amount of AP classes you've taken:

explanation:

you have AP Stats A

down the line, you have AP stats B....which, i'm assuming is the same course, but different semesters? :-/ good try.

and you have Philharmonia Audit on there 3 times.

I believe those are all of his classes for the next three years.. ?

The IB curriculum consists of completing six courses from six different subject areas, writing an Extended Essay (EE) of up to 4,000 words, taking part in the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) class, and fulfilling a requirement of 50 hours in each of Creative, Active and Service (CAS) pursuits. Grades are awarded from 1 to 7 in each subject, and up to three 'bonus' points may be awarded for good results in EE and TOK. Thus, a total of 45 points may be obtained by the candidate for their final diploma.
Students pursuing the Diploma take six courses, usually from six different subject areas, with three (or four) of them taken at higher level (HL) and the rest at standard level (SL). Higher level subjects require approximately 240 hours of teaching time, and standard level subjects about 150.

Just take a look at wikipedia :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IB_Diploma_Programme

No. Those aren't my classes for the next three years. Besides the fact that I'm a junior, only my HL subjects are defined into my senior year. The rest of those SLs are in my current schedule.

The things that are over the next two years are my concurrent enrollment classes, though. I am taking German/Govt in the Fall, and Micro/Macro/German in the spring for Junior Year.

By end of high school: (All are AP's, so I won't put "AP" in front of each one)

Eng. Lang. (10)
Eng. Lit. (11)
Cal AB (11)
Cal BC (12)
W. His. (10)
US His. (11)
Macro/Micro (12)
Gov't (12)
Bio (11)
Physics B (12)
Span. Lang (10)
Span. Lit (11)

^ For sure ^

Maybe: (since I have some spots open in schedule, can only do three, though)

Chem. (12)
Physics C (12)
Music Theory (12)
Statistics (12)
Computer Sci. (12)

Those aren't offered in my school, so I'd have to do self-study, hence the "maybe".

oo and to get an IB diploma you have to get a minimum of i think its 24 points for the US. if i rememer right its higher in europe. there's also the certificates for those who don't make the full diploma. my school offers all the basic APs i think so nothing like AP music theory and such. woohoo go IB nerds!!!!!

IB Classes:

IB European History/20th Century Topics HL
IB Math Studies SL
IB English HL
IB Biology HL
IB Psychology SL
IB Theory of Knowledge
IB Spanish SL

AP Statistics

AP Biology

Then there were those pre-IB classes to determine which direction you wanted to head into.

I am just glad that IB is over...I have the diploma, but lost 4 years of sleep.

-Honestly, all the AP classes are really great but only take them if you're actually interested in the subject. I really shouldnt have taken AP Biology b/c I hate science( I got an A but thats not the point) Stay away from APs that wont help you out for college. If you want to be a doctor, take as many math and science APs but if you want to be a lwayer, go for History and English.

I took these so far...

AP World History
AP US History
AP English Lang and Comp

I'm taking these next year:

AP English Literature
AP American Government
AP Biology

I'm thinking of self studying for these:

AP Chinese
AP Psychology

I'm taking:
AP US Government
Self-study AP Comparitive Government
AP Statistics
AP Chemistry
IB Math SL 1
IB Math SL 2
IB English 11 (aka AP English Lang.)
IB English HL (aka AP English Lit)
IB Spanish 5 SL(aka AP Spanish Lang)
IB Spanish 6 HL (aka AP Spanish Lit.)
IB Biology HL
IB CompSci SL
IB Psychology SL
IB History of the Americas (aka AP US History)
IB History HL
All my AP/IB classes together seem to be very well-rounded and you cant tell what my focus is. But I want to do pre-med. I think all the subjects are useful but I wouldnt mind not taking government(zzzzz).

alannancp

my school offers 21 AP's
