APs/Sophomore Standing

The unit cap won't count towards any units you accumulated before starting your first quarter @ UCLA.
I came in with 92 (quarter) units as a freshman. So it's really sweet with the class standing along with any other factor like Honors Program, Athletics and AAP.
As for fall quarter with classes, it depends on your orientation date. For the spring quarter, my sign up date was @ 9 am on Feb. 20 due to a combination of class standing and being in honors.
If your incomming units knock off any GEs during the process, that's even better especially if you want to say double minor

Gadzooks! You and karch make a guy coming in with what I think will be 40 units look like a slacker! You two should buy your graduation robes now.

At least this should bring sophomore standing for second quarter, right?:

Chem (8 units); English Lang (8 units and EngComp3); Foreign Lang (8 units and Humanities req't); Calc AB and Calc BC (8 units and Calculus); Physics B (8 units and General "B"). = 40 units.

May also take Comp Sc for 2 more unassigned units, but the class hasn't prepped for it -- nobody in class plans to take it.

40 units means you'll have soph standing after a quarter, since you need 45.

i feel like a slacker too and i had 36...

In my opinion, there seems to but a decent amount of freshmen students with junior status.

Oi, 92 units puts me to shame. Good job, Tony, and everyone else who counts as a Junior already.

But uh - I don't know much else about units at UCLA. Is it accurate to say people take 4-5 semester-long classes at a time, and get ~6 units each, making an average of around 50 units/yr?

UCLA is on a quarter system..........

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

More like 3-4 classes per [size=+2]*quarter*/size) for 4-5 units each

"dotdotdot:D/10chars"

very much liking it

anyhow...50 units/yr is doable but requires taking about four classes each quarter...

oh yeah, it doesn't matter how many units you came in with, everyone starts out with the same ECP. THE ECP usually isn't a problem...unless you're doing an illegal repeat where you don't receive credit towards the ECP count.
I must say, language classes take up so much time
