Sophomore standing? ap credits??

Hi, I'm an entering freshman for this fall and I had some questions about the
ap credits and the so-called 'sophomore standing' thing.
I took 7 ap classes in highschool, and when I checked online on the uci StudentAccess webpage and it said that I had 44 quarter units completed.

I've heard from people in my old high school that some people were
admitted as "technical" sophomores or juniors based on the amount of credits they got. Does this matter at all? I mean, doesn't everyone still take some
courses that most freshman take anyways their 1st year??

What is the # of qtr. units to be considered a sophomore or a junior?
Also, besides the courses that I actually gave me credits for some classes- the other credits that are considered "electives"- would these benefit me in any way like graduating early or not having to take some electives for grad. requirement?

for the credits, the advantage of being upper-class standing is that you get earlier pick for classes (the dates go by level, seniors first, then juniors, etc.,). I'm not sure if there is anything else that happens if you're admitted at a higher class standing.

45 quarter units a year is "normal" progress. Your AP elective credit might apply to unit requirements for graduation, and it won't count against you --i.e. you won't have to meet requirements earlier. It will get you earlier registration and you may find courses you've previously studied relatively easy, or be able to challenge a course. Mostly AP helps you get in, but it doesn't help you get out.
