APs

Of all the Academies,West Point's AP Policy is the vaguest and most unclear. Could anyone at WP tell me how much AP's actually count towards validation, and if they are even worth studying for? Would I have to take a course if performed poorly on USMA's own validation test even if I were to get a 5 on the AP? And are Validation tests offered for Psych and Econ?

Some people I've spoken to from WP said the AP's were largely irrelevant, but others have told me the exact opposite. What's the deal?

Study for and take the AP's anyway. The scores won't be available until July I believe and you'll be taking the validation exams around that time. However, if for any reason at all, you do not remain at West Point, you will have the scores available to send to a civilian college.

No one goes to an academy expecting that they will leave, but enough do each and every summer. PLEASE (yes, I'm saying it loudly) take the AP exams as you only have 1 chance to do so.
