Should I take the US History AP test??!?!

Im not sure whether or not to take it because right now im a junior who takes Pre-ap us history(my school doesnt offer ap us history...)
The reason i wanted to take one is because i am only taking one ap test this year(english). I felt like it would atleast help my college app. a little to have another ap test under my belt. What do yall think??

APUSH has a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different curriculum from prep US.

It will take a TON of studying on your part, but you might be able to manage a three or so if you get bookin' on it.

Best of luck. :D

Yeah, today i went to the library and loaded up on books, lol. The main reason i felt i could do it, because my english AP class is so tough and the teacher is really good so we do a lot of history in there(more than in Pre-ap us history!). The English ap prep also helps me with the essays on the history exam. Thanks

Take it. I took the AP class and exam last year, and the class lectures weren't really that useful. I learned 99% of the material by reading the textbook. Get a textbook, and start reading.

Take it. All you have to lose is some time and a relatively small amount of money. I took it at the end of last year in honors American history and a little bit of studying and got a 3. If I had studied more I think I could have gotten a 4.

Do yall think this provides any advantage in college apps and in general? the fact that I didnt even take an AP course, but i still took the AP test and (assuming) did well. I dont want to put hard work into something that will be worthless..

AP US History is the most popular AP subject of all. If you are applying to a selective college almost all of your competition will have taken the exam. So, yes you should study hard and take the exam.

Old Hickory is right. You should take the test.

Old Hickory, we could really use your bank-taming expertise right about now.

I will KILL THE BANK

umm sorry guys, not really gettin the "bank" thing...explain please?

If you decide to take it, make sure you get a review book, preferably AMSCO or REA.

Haha the "bank" thing just has to do with President Jackson whose nickname was "Old Hickory". He didn't like the (2nd?) national bank and he vowed to "kill it".
