APUSH FRQ's

Yeah i didnt really get the term in 4 either. I pretty much made a educated guess. I think well do fine

i aced the DBQ, but for the FRQs i wrote only 4 paragraphs for each of them. intro, 2 body, 1 conclusion. How much will that affect my grade?

I picked 3 and 5; I totally bombed 3 (I added extraneous info about railroads in my analysis; of course, railroads didn't really mean **** until AFTER the Civil War) but I definitely aced 5 and I aced the DBQ, so hopefully, I'll still get a decent all-around score on this section.

paki - the amount of paragraphs doesn't really matter. Two body paragraphs is definitely fine so long as you integrate all your analysis correctly.

To get a 8-9 it says u need to make use of a "substantial" amount of documents....how many is that

Actually the north had a whole bunch of railroads during the civil war, they could easily transport materials and troops to the south.

thats soulside.....for the DBQ i used 5 documents ( i doubt i analyzed each fully becasue of the time) and used lots and lots of outside info.

I had decent analysis on 2, but in a sentence near the end of my first paragraph mentioned a person who was not involved in any way with the topic, coupled with factual and relevant information (unfortunate mistake, I just thought this person was involved, and they were not) Does that mean that the highest a College Board essay reader can give me on that essay is a 3? It was not even half of a sentence...

I asked some people who took the test today about the DBQ & FR. I heard two topics for FR..I didn't think they were that bad. The DBQ, however, I thought it was harder than last year, at least for me.

btw, I took APUSH last year and got a 5.

^ Of course not. If you had an strong essay and made a minor error like that, it would be illogical for them to take you down to a 3 automatically.

Indeed, but they didn't really have a big economic impact until afterwards.

Good thing I added in turnpikes, canals, and factory industrialization for good measure...maybe I'll get a 4 on that essay if I'm lucky.

OK good. Someone told me (maybe it was my APUSH teacher grading essays) that if you talk about an issue that is not within the time frame the highest you can get is a 3, but I think it may only apply if a paragraph of your essay is just straight up wrong. lol

Does anyone want to take a guess at what CB will do to me on #4? I hope I don't get the --.

I actually did really good on eassy4 i totally blanked out on number 3 though hopfully i can pull out a 4 on that one

No, my AP US History class was not supplemented by an honors course. It was just straight up one semester. We were required to do the first nine chapters of The American Pageant over the summer, however. It was a tough class, but I survived. I think I did well on the exam today, as well.

If you were to take US History at most universities, it would be one semester as well (although some universities divide it up into US History to 1865 and US History 1865-Present and give you the according hours of credit).

when we get our scores, does it say what we got on our FRQ, DBQ, and MC or just says like 3,4, or 5.

Just the final scores (1,2,3,4,5) unfortunately, paki.

It just says our #
I wish it broke it down its really dumb.

I chose 3 and 4, which I thought I did ok on.

I did not know about the first thing in 3 and 4. At least pick something mentioned in the official cram packet or Princeton Review.
