Should I take AP US History junior year or AP Psychology and AP european history in the same year? The AP euro teacher at my school is so easy, they barely have homework. And the AP Psych class is pretty easy for an AP. I will also either be in AP lit/comp or CU succeed english (college credit to CU boulder).
AP US History is definitely the tougher option, but I think you should take AP Psych and AP Euro- you get two APs rather than one. But you also should consider how many APs other students at your school take in junior year- are they taking four, or five? If so, your courseload may be too easy in comparison (at top schools the rigor of your courses in the context of your school matters)
@yonceonhismouth i still also need a US history credit, which i could get by taking US history (not AP). I will probably be taking AP language, so that makes 3. What is a 4th AP that I should take junior year?
What are the options offered to you? I think AP US History is not too bad an idea (i loved the class, breezed through it and the exam with an A/5) but I’m a history buff. Do you possibly have AP Stats or AP Human Geo?
APUSH is definitely harder by a lot, but if you’re willing to do the work it might look a lot better to colleges.
Honestly, if you want to beef up the resume it should be all three. Colleges see the aps offered and want to see you challenge yourself. If it feels like too much though, I’d take apush. The easier aps aren’t favored as much
