APUSH Research Paper!!!

My first Research Paper is due on Tuesday Dec. 20. It was given to me a week ago, but I am having trouble with the topic. Can someone please list some interesting topics I can write about (events, people or ideas that occurred in America between 1607 and 1812)? And also, include a question about that topic that I can answer in my 5-7 page paper. Thanks.

I have some: Revolutionary War (Was AMerica Justified in separting from British??? you can write tons on this topic), Articles of Confederation and the U.S. Constitution (Maybe about the weaknesses and positives of each, or like somethihng else about them), Age of Enlightenment - people involved, attitutude shift, ideals change, new government proposed, math etc...Hope i covered some helpful ones for you. Start right away, 5-7 pgs is a lot.

Thanks. I might do my paper on the revolutionary war. I am really bad at english, so can you please explain what "Was America justified in sepearating from British?" mean?

lol..no worries..umm it means like..was america right in waging war with britain?? and if they were, why were they justified? This question depends on your point of view. Being in America, i would side with the fact that America was justified in waging war and becoming an independent nation since it is easier and most textbooks would agree by giving you ample reasons. reasons i could think America is justified because: unlawful taxes(stamp, tea, other), unrepresented in parliament, housing of troops, going against a monarchy, new ideas from the enlightenment, Proclamation of 1763, Cherokee War (indian war with americans, this increased tension since the American believed British sided with Indians), Sugar ACt, writs of assistance problems!! as you can see, if you put each as a topic sentence, you could write a long...long essay.

Thanks a lot. Over Thanksgiving break, I'm going to gather all the info and start writing!

np..lol goodluck on it..if you need help just msg me

you could write whether or not the American revolution was actually a "revolution" from the political, economical, and ideological standpoints if revolution is defined as " a large scale, complex, convulsive reform, often characterized by violent takeovers of the state and substantial transformation of central institutions"
no that's a AP USH question
we wrote a paper on it earlier this year

Here are some original and hopefully appealing topics:
-Aaron Burr killing Alexander Hamilton and trying to start his own country
-Aaron Burr vs. Thomas Jefferson in the electtion of 1802
- XYZ Affair
- The fates of Declaration of Independence signers
- John Marshall creating the supreme Court as we know it
It's too late so you'll have to think of your own questions to accompany this. Have Fun!
