for my summer work... i have a 100 pt assignment. i dont know if i will get it all finished because i decided to wait until the last 2/3 weeks of summer to start.. so i was wondering if it would hurt me in the long run if i dont do so well on it. or, will it not really matter thatmuch & i can still get an a in the class if i do everything else?

well that just depends on how many points total are possible per marking period. for my history class for instance, doing not so great on ONE 100 point assignment would not kill you because every test was worth 100 points and we had several per marking period in addition to papers, but in my precal class doing badly on a 100 pt assignment would probably hurt your grade significantly

100 points might not hurt you in the long wrong, but it might make a bad impression with the teacher, which isn't good. I've known teachers who kicked kids out of their AP classes because the kids didn't both to make an effort in the summer work.

If you've still got 1/3 of the summer left, that is plenty of time to get your work done. I bet most of your peers will be hurriedly trying to finish up their work the day before school starts, so you aren't alone.

Don't worry, today I had a surprise test on a book I didn't read, today being the first day of school.

If it's too much of a burden, switch to regular US History. I don't know how anyone can survive AP US History. Even though I was salutatorian at my high school (with weighted grades), I was the first one to drop out of AP US History. The workload was so torrential that it exceeded the combined workload of the rest of my classes, and I was taking Honors/AP classes to the hilt.

That was 16 years ago. NOBODY today cares about whether or not I could hack it in AP US History, and the same will apply for you in 2022.
