^^hahaha lool

More like anything... yeah. No racism.

How's everyone's college crap going?

My "college crap" is going fine. (only because I'm applying locally and not to any US Colleges)..Life Sucks.

I've done my 'college crap' already but now I'm busy doing the real 'college crap' (work at unis never ceases)

Hey,
I was just wondering what arab/middle eastern people thought of the American University of Beirut. What kind of reputation does it have?

its really good, probably the best Uni in the middleast....Plus, Beirut is amazing. Great night life, beaches, clubs, skiing, everything u would want lol.

Any American University in ... is "the best university in the Middle East. Most of them, if not all, have a good reputation. I'd apply if they didn't cost a fortune!

AUB is a very good institution. I belive it just one a few years ago an award as having the best Med School in the Middle East! Plus it is accredited by the US. It really is quite good.

Once again, aren't all AUs accredited by the US. They are called the American universities.

Hahaha no not all of them are!!
For example: AUD (American University of Dubai) is actually not accredited by the US!

really? That sucks.

Yeah, I guess only the one in Sharjah is accredited by the US. I'm pretty sure that one is.

^Yeah it is.

I had no idea that they had to earn accreditation. How long has the AUD been open? AUS opened in '97 so I guess it's been accredited for a while.

It was actually founded before AUS 1995. AUD doesn't have accreditation and is usually viewed to be much weaker than AUS. AUS itself was accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (One of the US accreditation associations) but AUD never was.

well that just sucks. Everything in Dubai is the best in the middle east; why not the AUD? (not that I was thinking of applying; It costs way too much).

I honestly don't know why AUD isn't as good as AUS it kinda just is you know? Sharjah really invested heavily in AUS something that Dubai didn;t really do.

Hello all.

I just found this thread. I'm in riyadh--the city of lamborghinis where women can't drive cars;the city with lingeries in shameless display on shop windows, but where woman are covered head to toe!

Riyadh is THIS, and MORE!! anyone in riyadh, or anywhere in saudi, SHOUT OUT!

hey
Riyadh sound like lots of fun (lmao)

hey nice to meet you. I used to live in the UAE before I came to stanford. (though the UAE's laws are nothing like Saudi Arabia's...)
