Arabs

Oops responded to an old post my fault. Who knew a thread with only 3 active people would get so big??

Well, when you have a 15 year old obsessed with studying in the states, a college student wasting time at work, and well... other random Arabs... then you have the perfect ingredients for a long thread where everyone talks about nothing for long periods of time.

Hey, we ARE Arabs, we're keeping up with traditions...
And our favorite past-time -- arguing about everything and nothing. =D

^yup we're keeping the tradition :)

who said I was obsessed? stop it with the ludicrous assumtions. (I think I spelled half that sentence wrong).

^that made absolutely no sense at all!!!

uh, now where were we?

I hate DSL!! It's so slow!!

DSL?? Its fast! I get 1Mbs and is pretty good. 56Kbs now that's slow.

uh..I know it should be fast..the little icon on the task bar says 100 mbps. but it took this page 20 minutes to load.

I have a question:

Do any of you, Enn or wizard that is, know about the American Univeristy's policy on scholarships and financial aid? I want to apply to the AUC but if I can't get some kind of scholarship, then I won't even bother because that would mean giving up certain luxuries..which I will never ever do. Anyway, I looked at their website but didn't find specific info....

Well I don't know anything about AUC but I do know about AUB and AUS (my twin sis goes there). AUB I believe gives out financial aid but not scholorships whereas AUS gives both. AUS even has a scholorship which pays for 75-100% of your tuition but its extremely rare and hard to get. Sometimes they give it to no one! I think AUC should at least give out financial aid but I'm not sure...

PS:The three universities have pretty much nothing in common except that the three are the only american accredited universities in the region.

Hey I found this website: http://www.aucegypt.edu/admissions/undergraduate/finaid.htm

it seems like they give a max of 30% financial aid...

well, I assumed that, since they are all accredited and are basically the same university, the policies would be the same in all of them. I'll have to look into it a little more...I hate this part, colleges should come to us-not the other way around.

thanks for the link wizard :)

AUK is accredited now, I think.

^I honestly don't know

It's new. Couple of years old now.

That's why I've never heard of it!

Probably. yup.

If its only a couple of years old then it hasn't had enough time to gain accreditation. I didn't search extensively on the website but its not on the fromt page like AUS.

PS:AUS website is www.aus.edu

I didn't know that the AUs had to earn the accreditation. I thought they were accredited without anything. That's new information for me. :O
