Hi there,
I'm going to be a high school Senior in the fall and I'm trying to decide between Architecture and engineering (most likely civil) as major for next year. I thought I wanted to be a civil engineering major, but upon further research what I thought was civil engineering started to sound more like architecture - now I'm pretty lost.

So my question is, do I have to choose one now? If I choose to major in one of the two, how easy would it be to switch my major to the other down the road if I change my mind? Could I take some classes in each area in college and then choose?

I transfered into architecture after 2 years of engineering. I lost few credits, but because of the studio sequence that had to be followed it added another year. Could you study both at the same time? Possibly if you enroll at a school with a four year program and a light studio load your freshman year. I do not believe you could do it at a school with a BArch program. Engineering physics/calculus/structures courses will transfer into architecture, but not the other way around.

My guess is that once you start your coursework you will very quickly find out which one is right for you.
