Hi , I was wondering if it is possible to go to a LAS first and take the requirement courses and then transfer to a school that actually have Architecture as a major ?

bob, do you mean LAC, as in small liberal arts college?

yes that’s what i meant ^^

I believe it is quite difficult to transfer from an LAC (or any undergraduate BA/BS program) into a B.Arch program. B.Arch programs are comprehensive and rigorous from day-one and you’d need to start from the beginning.

Following up a BA/BS undergraduate degree from an LAC or a university in architectural studies or any other major with an M.Arch is a common route.

In America only the B.Arch or M.Arch qualifies you to practice architecture. The BA or BS programs have various names – architectural studies is common – but if you go this route it doesn’t matter whether you do so at an LAC or a university, you still need to get a B.Arch or an M.Arch.
