<p>Are 19 credits too much for a freshman in the fall semester? A possible pre-med program is considered. These are: General Bio, Chemo with lab, Consolidated calculus, Spanish, Micro economics and Tides. Any input are appreciated.</p>
<p>I have the same schedule except for no math or Spanish. However, I’m taking CDMA INFO and ENGL1010. That Makes my schedule 18.5 credits… So… Haha. Hope we are okay…</p>
<p>I’d say that schedule is pretty standard for a pre-med. You guys should be fine! Just don’t get too caught up with partying :P</p>

I have the same schedule as you except for the Economics.
It comes out to be 17 credits without the Economics.<br>
I was thinking about taking 19 credits. However, too many people advised me not too. They told me not to be too hard core first semester of freshman year. </p>
<p>I’m doing summers though and I have some AP credit. I don’t know where you stand in terms of that.</p>

<p>Had him for Calc3. He’s awesome, definitely a really nice guy. Just go to his office hours if you need help, he’ll clear things up.</p>

<p>I had him for Calc 1 and felt that he didn’t do the best job explaining basic calc concepts. Sometimes he would jump right into practice problems without explaining the basics first, which doesn’t totally jive with my learning style. Fortunately I had already taken calculus in high school (chose calc 1 over consolidated because I was scared :p) so it ended up being okay. He was very helpful and kind in office hours.</p>
<p>I’ve heard mixed reviews about Can. However, his 8am class was the one I needed for my schedule. I don’t think he should be too much trouble honestly. :)</p>
<p>Protip: the time he taught Calc I was his first venture into teaching 1000-2000 level at Tulane. During the time he taught Calc III, he did a survey about 2-3 weeks into the class asking how we would like the class to be taught. He took the surveys, and then taught to the requests on the survey. Since then, he’s worked out any kinks from the time he taught Calc I and is pretty popular.</p>

<p>Hey guys, I don’t mean to take over this thread but as an incoming freshman premed also, my adviser advised against me taking both Bio and Chem Fresh year. Is there any benefit to taking both of them the first year? What do you guys think?</p>
<p>My DS has taken about 19 credits every semester. I think he didnt take bio til soph year, but it was because he was taking several consolidated classes as well as chem, tides, honors, etc and I think it was hard to try to schedule the labs for both chem and bio. This is from memory, but it seems to ring a bell.</p>
<p>yea well right now I’m only at 15. My adviser seemed to make me think it was standard. I’m scheduled for Calc 1, Chem/Chem Lab, Span 204, Intro to Psyc, Tide. It seems like a lot of lab time to take both Chem and Bio, especially for a first semester freshman.</p>
<p>I happen to be able to see a copy of the transcript (had to send it to our auto insu company to maintain the good student discount 
) He’s taken 15, 17, 19 hrs. One semester he started with 21 but decided that was nuts. It was, especially as an engineering major.</p>
<p>D took both Chem and Cell Bio freshman year. She is planning on travelling abroad junior year so she has a little less time on campus to work with. Be aware that you cannot take any of the courses required by medical schools while you are abroad (specifically talking about chem, bio, physics). Those classes must be taken stateside. Not sure if they would take an english class?</p>
