Long story short, I asked 2 teachers (AP Chem + IB English/English 9) for recommendations. I had both teachers Junior year. Today, I accidentally asked my Sophomore year Hon Alg2 teacher for a rec. We have a great relationship and I'm in her room all the time. She knows how good I am at math and says I'm smart a lot so I know she'll write me a good rec. But I was wondering, is 3 too many?

If a school asks for 2 teacher LORs, then they will only accept 2. The third will have to be submitted as a supplemental LOR.

IMO, a supplemental LOR should only be submitted if it is both very strong and addresses different things about you than your teacher & GC LORs.

But they’re all teacher recs? How do I un-ask a teacher… My school uses Navience so can I just not assign a teacher on CA? I don’t really know how it works.

Yes, when you submit the CA to a school(s), you will check which teacher LORs to accompany it. It’s not a problem that you have more than 2 teacher LORs available on the CA, people often do this because they use different teachers for different schools. The main problem is having the third teacher go through the effort of writing you a LOR when you aren’t going to use it.

How do I un-ask a teacher? Also, what about non-common app schools? Does checking which teacher I will use work even though my school uses Navience?

Sorry, I’m not familiar with using Naviance, so I will leave this for others to comment. I can’t tell you how to uninvite someone, I’m not even sure how one accidentally asks for a LOR :consfused:.
