I'm from the midwest so alot of the focus around here is on the act especially for prep and everytihng. I took both the sat and the act but my act scores were alot higher- will dukeor other schools discriminate against me because i only submitted act scores. Also, i dont have satII tests but brown doesnt require them as long as you submit the act with writing (thats what i've been told)- will the colleges not like that?

No they wont discriminate. I only sent my ACT's (and I'm from the deep south), and I got in. They don't really care. However, I'm not sure what Duke is currently requiring, but I think you still have to send in some SAT II's. I'm not sure about that though.

no, you send in either ACT or SAT and SAT IIs.

Do they use a conversion chart for the ACTs-->SATS?

I'm from the Northeast and sent my ACT score and SAT II scores (while there is no score choice, I did not include my much lower SAT I score on the application.)

I would guess that Duke and Brown did not care because they accepted me whereas the others did not, but there may have been other factors.

If you're from a predominantly, "ACT area" then I wouldn't worry about it, although I can't see why taking a subject test or two could hurt you, I mean, if you think you'd do well.

ok thanks so much i guess ill start studying for the subject tests and cross my fingers

S sent only ACT (32) plus 3 SAT IIs (never took the SAT) to Dartmouth and was accepted ED. I think it really doesn't matter anymore.
