Are AP tests important at all senior year?

I ask because, frankly, I don’t want to study for them. I’m in chemistry this year, though, and if I don’t study, I will probably get a 1 at best. If I start now, and study as hardcore as I did last year for tests, I could probably muster a 3 or a 4, but it’s senior year…

So, in short, if I do poorly on AP tests this year, do I jeopardize my acceptance at Cal?

me either...im so over it.... i have to take 4! ahhhhhh

Haha, I'm taking 4 too, but I'm only worried about the Chem one. Spanish and Calculus will be easy I think, and English Lit will be something I can't really study for I think, so no worries there.

My chemistry class is a huge waste of time though, so I'm completely unprepared. Blah.

K I'm done complaining now I swear. Anyone know if I have to study?

hey i have to take four too but senioritis is just too strong and there is no way in hell i'm studying. typos!

Ok, you don't have to take it (or take it and fail) if don't need it for s'more standing or anything. Chem is 5.3 units and I could kick myself now for not taking it last year as a junior. But I'm taking 6 AP's... so I need to start cracking the books. lol.

Wow Marie, I'm taking 6 too. Chem, Phys C, Calc BC, Span, Eng Lit, Eng Lang! Chem is probably my main focus, mostly 'cause I know I'm gonna fail the Span test.

I saw the list of how many credits are awarded per AP test but I still had some questions:

1) Anyone know why a score of 3, 4, or 5 gets the same amount of credit per test? (For example: Chem?) Most other schools give way more credit for 4s and 5s and less for 3s.
2) Exactly how much is 5.3 credits? Can someone please put this in perspective for me? How many credits does the average student take per semester?

im pretty shure avrg per semiester is 15

la la la i don't want to study either. if id on't study at all for calc or stats or gov i can probably get a 3 or 4..i want to study for eng lit though cuz if i get a 5 i can skip a year of eng at cal.. and i hate eng... but then again, i also suck at it, so i doubt i could get a 5.

I'm taking 3 AP tests...I want to get a 5 on calc BC so that I can skip math 1B, but I can fail macroecon and physics B for all I care

i have four too...calc and english i got but..spanish and gov -_- blech

the spanish test isn't that bad.. but the oral portion ended up owning me.. so i ended up getting a 4.. which isn't bad, but whatevs..

GAH senioritis is so kicking in .. i have no desire to study for APs at all.. english lit, BC, gov and econ.. eeww.. and only a few weeks left too.. yay for procrastinators!

WAY too many of them. Physics C, Calc BC, English, and Gov. Ugh. And none of them will go towards college. Any studying I do will be purely for the sake of my teachers and their passing rates.

I'm taking 3; none of them will count at CAL but will provide a buffer for units. The only reason I'm taking by Calc AB one is because my teacher will not give us a final and drop two lowest test scores if we take the Calc AB test. That's a good enough reason to shell out $82.

Wow I wish my calc teacher would do that for us. His reward for us taking the AP test is giving the entire class a practice AP test and counting it as a grade. Somehow, giving us more tests is a nice thing.

I hate that man.

i'm in calc bc and my calc teacher is HARD but she gives us an A if we get a 5...so =) i'm not complaining..although we didnt take our test yet..

i had my final for my calc bc class today. it was a full length AP, made up of old released AP questions. i sure hope i get a 5 after all this practice...

Should i take Stat AP?? IF i pass, what would I get at Cal?? I dont understand the point of APs..like i know if you get a 5 on calc AB you get out of Math 1a and if you get a 5 on Calc BC then u get out of math 1b...but what do you get for something like Stat AP?? what are "buffer units"?
confused

ap credits are to get out of classes in college, but more and more students are just taking ap classes to strengthen up their coursework; since so many people get a's in high school, i wouldn't be surprised if they start to weigh the scores of the ap tests more soon.

but what about Statistics AP? what class do you get out of ..if u pass? for berkeley that is..

ur incentives for taking the AP tests are as follows:

-NOT WASTING $85/TEST (assuming u already paid)
-STRENGTHEN UR COLLEGE APP
-REGISTER FOR CLASSES PRIORITY
-WAIVE SOME CLASSES
-GET THOSE AP AWARDS
