Are AP US Government/Politics and AP Macroeconomics necessary for engineering?

So I’m choosing my classes for senior year next year. So far I have:

French 4 AP
Calculus AB AP
English 12 (regular)
Physics C AP (taken through one year)

So I have three other AP’s as is. French comes easy to me and won’t be a problem. Calculus will take up some time for me. I’m trying to make my courseload not look TOO light for senior year, but I want to have a life, lol. I’m not too sure about Physics C AP. I’m in Honors Physics right now, had an 84-86 all year. The tests are killer but everyone in my class does bad usually…Minor possibility I will drop if I can’t get a B- or higher.

I’m planning to apply for Industrial Engineering next fall. I’m having trouble deciding between regular college prep Gov/Econ or AP. I’m not much into politics to be honest.

Background:

4.1 WGPA, 3.7 UGPA
AP’s taken: Human Geography, European History, US History
Honors: Geometry, Algebra 2, Chemistry, Physics
Regular (no honors offered): Biology, French 1-3
Regular (chose non-honors): English 9-11, Pre-Calculus

In my situation is taking AP Gov/AP Econ worth it?
If I DO end up dropping AP Physics will my courseload be too light then? I’d still take a science (maybe Chem AP?)

Bump?

Anyoneeeeeeee?

They’re not necessary for Industrial Engineering, but they are relatively easy AP’s (at least in my school and my peers) that require minimal reading and advanced concepts. You have to take these classes regardless, so getting some cheap college credit (and some education on concepts that way too many people are lacking in) seems worth it.

AP Gov didn’t seem to be too “political”. Almost all of it was government structure and how it has evolved. I would consider it an extension of AP US History, but much easier. Since you’ve taken APUSH, AP Gov should be very easy. If you have even the most basic understanding of how the US federal government works, the tests should be common sense.
