Are Azn's inherently smarter?

Tropical Triceps, of course these things have to be talked about. Are you stupid? That's what politicians are for. Of course in US, none of them have the guts to talk about these things.

But guess what the Japanese Prime Minister (yes, national leader) said during the 80s when America was losing the trade war? He said "America can never compete with Japan in the 21st Century because it has too many blacks and hispanics". And then he went out and praised how Japan is a pure country with a pure culture filled with a pure people blessed with high intelligence and a a good work ethic. The funny thing is, most Japanese agreed with him. That's why Japan today is strictly anti-immigration. That's why they are building robots to compensate for a lack of cheap labor. They would rather send their elders to some nursing home in Thailand than bringing in immigrants to care for them. But now they have robots for that too.

It's very important that these things get talked about. Japan is setting a very good example for East Asia to follow.

A wise leader for China must realize China's human capital advantage and severely limit immigration from the outside. It should also invest tons of money to bring back the Chinese from overseas. Then, the day when it surpass the US will come even quicker.

Wow how beautiful. Very articulate. Did you get that from a textbook or what?

You seem to have a lot of oriental pride. Feel free to go back...China's gonna surpass the US anyways, right?

If you are Chinese, I would be highly concerned. Start hanging around with cutural Japanese more...you'll be quite enlightened.

"Get in a fight with a big black man and your ahole will never be there same. Races have central strengths. If they didn't they'd be like the neanderthals - wiped out. IQ does not make humans superior. Motives do."

Why don't I just get in a fight with a big black bear? I'll BET I'll lose. You are right.

Don't think so highly of your mental prowess.

Whether you become a teacher or a field laborer, a doctor or an entrepreneur, you're still a servant of the industry.

Again, intelligence alone does not make you a valuable or respectable person.

"You seem to have a lot of oriental pride. Feel free to go back...China's gonna surpass the US anyways, right?"

What's wrong with having pride? Success breed success. Do you not know this? It's true that China will likely surpass the US in the future. Just by judging from current economic performance, it'll happen before 2050. Read here:
http://www.time.com/time/reports/v21/work/q_china.html

That's not even taking into account that the US will be 50% hispanics by then. (many of them uneducated, or could not be even if they tried)

It's all going according to the IQ-economic relationship.

"Whether you become a teacher or a field laborer, a doctor or an entrepreneur, you're still a servant of the industry."

Tropical, it's about time that you realize being a doctor or an entrepreneur is A LOT better than staying in a ghetto playing with guns or asking people for money.

There's no more need to argue. It's obvious where your values lie.

I completely agree with TropicalTriceps. Seriously, as an Asian myself, I think half the things said here are inherently racist and the arguments about Asians being a model minority only perpetuate our negative views about other minorities.

And in terms of intelligence, there is more than just IQ. Psychology teaches us that there are theories of multiple intelligence, including emotional, spacial, verbal, kinesthetic and the other ones I can't recall. The intelligence that we're supposedly defining Asians to have more of probably refers to just spacial and verbal, at least that's what the SATs or whatnot test...supposedly.

"There's no more need to argue. It's obvious where your values lie."

Indeed, there is no need to argue. It's apparent that I've backed up all my statements with either logical proof or research/studies/articles.

You've not countered any of the argument logically. All you do is say things like "IQ is not everything" and "you are a racist" sort of thing.

I agree IQ is not everything. There is more to life than social status, education, money, and a low crime society.

Listen toolbag,

I was done right about when you said that Latinos could not be educated even if they tried.

You think you are a special princess. Why did I not bring statistics into play? Because its obvious. We all know of China's economic growth. We all read news magazines, online articles, and newspapers.

I'm a racist SOB and a sick bastard, and I love arguing with you, but you are heartless and without conscience. I dunno how your parents forcefed this mentality into you. It's so juvenile that it embarasses the rest of us who are asian.

Walk outside and take a breath. Wanna know what the world thinks of Asians? We're submissive doormats, nerds that play starcraft, and uncreative. They love us only for our women. It's a good thing we're such a high percentage of the world population.

Feel free to live in the easy world and preach your smarts. It means close to nothing when it comes to social superiority.

joejia u r the kinda ppl that make me seriously doubt China is gonna get anywhere good

tropical... u dont really have an original point

and NEVER use the term oriental, thats a demeaning word for turks

"We're submissive doormats, nerds that play starcraft, and uncreative."

Obviously because of people like you.

"social superiority" is all due to IQ. The only group of people competing with Asians are white people, because white people are smart at the top of their IQ spectrum. You never hear hispanics or blacks claiming any "superiority".

The only reason why "white' seems to be the "superior" right now is because of the West's industrialization in the past 300 years. They were able to be economically and scientifically "superior" for a long time because they had no oppressive governments, no isolation, unlike East Asia. Second, they had geniuses at the very top of their spectrum.

Right now, the Asians are catching up and are surpassing. So who knows would the world will be like 50 years from now.

Everything you've said are based on your tiny 2005 American perspective. Apparently you are just a nerd who can't think big and only knows what others tell you.

Yes, you are the submissive doormat and nerd that I'm really ashamed of to be associated with.

Joejia,

Catch up on some sleep Hitler.

JinFX,

We were being graded on creativity?

lol i'll be the last one to be giving out grades

joejia certainly does have a point. Geniuses have been responsible for much success, and if they do not exist for whatever reason, society would be far less advanced than it is now. The question is, is the variation sufficiently similar enough for all groups that one can determine the number of geniuses merely based on the group's average IQ? Or is it larger for some groups than others, such that a group with lower average IQ could still have more geniuses due to higher variability? For one thing, the Wealth of Nations study shows India as having an average IQ of 80-something (and I'm quite sure that sample was unrepresentative of the population, as was with many other nations in the study). Well yeah - tell that to that overperforming Indian student. India does have some pretty damn smart people.

This is beginning to look like a FOB versus ABA war...

Nevertheless, I do agree that the IQ test tests intelligences that asians are naturally good at. As I have pointed out earlier, academic smart is not the only smart. Being smart can also be applied to sports, in which other races are usually dominate in. (Just look at Kobe, in no way can Yao do the same things...) But all this really comes to having that inner drive. Without it, no one would be successful.

And just to do justice for the other races, here's link where you guys can laugh at us:

bitterasianmen.com

I completely hate the fact that asians are discriminated in the college process. It is not true that all asians have pushy parents. I know I don't. My parents are divorced and have blue-collar jobs due to their inability to speak English. In addition, they did not attend college. I also did not enjoy the benefits of music lessons and outside academic courses. I am very self-motivated and it is this self-determination to succeed that makes asians more successful that other groups.

my history teacher once told us that asians are generally smarter not because of their IQ but b/c of their schools. she told us--though i don't believe it now (i used to)-- that non-asian schools place a bit more importance on athletics than academics, while asian schools do the opposite.

and no, i don't think my race is smarter. plus, being intelligent doesn't mean you're going to succeed. being intelligent can get be an advantage when you're in school, but in the real world, you have to have drive, perseverance, passion and a bit of luck on your side to make it to the top.

the only ppl that associate w/ "Asians" are ppl how dont really know wat their background

white ppl use the word "Asians" to put a heterogeneous together so its easier to insult and disadvantage them

i, for one, am not asian

after reading some of the opinions here, i really feel sorry for all u asians

JoInc: ur teacher was and is a retard

JinFX,
Asians are a group of people who are from the continent of Asia. It's like saying Americans are North Americans. There is nothing insulting whatsoever about the term "Asian." You can be Asian and still be Chinese/Japanese/Korean/whatever. Geez.

Edit: Are you just trolling?

Wouldn't being smarter be a good thing?
