I don't know about "Azns", but I think Asians tend to be very intelligent. And also why do u have an apostrophe?? It's not possessive. Hahaha. You're not too nerdy.

Are you claiming Jews have grammatical superiority over all the other races!?!?!?!

Did you miss the part where I wrote, "Jk"...way to take what I said out of context. Jk = just kidding, incase you're more oblivious than I thought you were.

I don't think a race can be inherently "smarter", but I do think that asians, because of their family background and upbringing, tend to be more diciplined, and in return, more successful.

I agree. It's not possible for Asians to be smarter. It's like saying that Asians are born smarter than other races. I think not. This article mentions, "Ask anyone who has lived in China, Japan, etc, and they will tell you that there are a lot of dumb people who live there, just like an American would say the same thing about America (or would be lying.) But many Asian cultures has fostered habits and attitudes towards intelligence that has allowed them small advantages. By that standard, race has very little to do with intelligence and relies more on familial and educational dispositions in their local culture." I have seen a number of Asians do poorly in academic performance. Likewise, I know people of other races (Hispanic, black, white, etc.) that have been disciplined in the family at early ages, and consequently, they have been excelling in their studies.

With that, I shall leave you a comment written by a Canadian: "I'm Caucasian. I went to school with quite a few Asians (in Canada, mind you). Smarter or not is unknown to me. What I do know is that they definitely work harder than many of the Canadian/American kids I knew. Typically you see that gifted Caucasian kids also are somewhat unmotivated to accomplish, while lesser gifted Caucasian kids probably work as hard as anyone, Asian population included. But when you consider that even (possibly "especially") the gifted Asian kids work their fingers to the bone it makes sense why they seem to take top honours wherever they go. I applaud and respect this discipline and determination. If only it would rub off onto the jaded North American kids of this generation."

Keep in mind that a lot of asians are first-generation immigrants. This means that to get into the US, they have economic value to the country, usually intellectual/business related. Thus, the asians you see in America are the top x% of asians in Asia. The highest percentage of a population - combined with a cultural affinity for educational achievement - may not be representative of the population as a whole.

In my school, for one, I find the caucasians to be intrinsically brighter (this is coming from an asian, btw). One of the kids who went to the Chemistry Olympiad camp (top 20 in the US in chem) who's a caucasian did his history homework from an online source during chemistry class; he had the highest grades in both his history and chemistry classes. Several other examples along similar lines, too.

well, not really, many immigrants from asia start from nothing and either become entreprenuers with restaurants or stores. Many asians, especially in California and Canada start with nothing when they come here and have to work their way up. I think it's the fact that the immigrants see teh oppurtunities that exist for their children and want to push them as hard as they can so their kids can have better lives than their parents do. Most of the rich asains are centered around universities and major business areas, but a large part of the asian immigrant population is quite poor and not very well-off.

Also, in terms of science, whites have an inherent advantage with language, and many first gen kids don't comprehend as well and have to work hard to understand what the problem is askign for since many times their thought processes are different from white kids and teh white people who write the quesions at competitions. For example, at math competitions where only numbers are needed, asians do jsut as well or better than whties. Also, in competitions like the AMC, MAthCounts, and the science olymiads, tehre aer plenty of asians who place extremely high and do just as well as their white counterparts.

Ok, first of all I believe the word smart itself is ambiguous. How can you exactly measure smartness? By IQ? Or perhaps something else?

Thus since there isn't even a definate way to measure intelligence, how can we say one race is smarter than another?

But even so, we can conclude that certain races are better in certain areas than others by observing the general trends people have exhibited.

For example, why are most of the sprinters in the Olympics African American? Why are Brasilians so dominating in football? And why are Russians so brilliant in chess? Yes, you can say they are better because they practice more but is that really true? I can see Chinese boys kicking a football everyday in the fields but yet China has a very medicore football team.

In my personal opinion, Asians are not necessarily smarter but they are, in general, better at some particular academic subjects; namely in the fields of Mathematics and the Sciences. It is also observed that Asians are better test takers and tend to work harder in school. And it is such factors that contribute to their academic successes and the misconception that Asians are inherently smarter.

YES. u need to remember that many azn in ur school are those who came to US because they weren't doing so good academically in their native country.
but they still best the kids in US.

..... jk... Not really, end this pointless discussion.
