Are book awards prestigious and what do they represent? :)

I have been hearing of different book awards and how some people have received them. However, my school does not give them out I don’t think so is there any other way to receive them? (That is if they are important) So summing it up, does receiving these book awards really mean anything? And are they important? I am also aware these are rather general questions but any information is welcome! Thanks

I have the same question! Hopefully someone answers.

@bfc2017 Generally, it’s prefered that you create your own thread and not use another old one, but since it’s already at the top, I’ll answer.

My school has them. They are just awards given out to a person from each class sponsored by a college. They vary in prestige as we have ones colleges barely above a community college and ones from Havard and Yale. They are generally given out for grades, ECs, community service, stuff like that although some may have more specific critera than others. I beleive they are only through high schools so if yours doesn’t do them it’s not a big deal.
