Are CAAAN interviews based on application submission date?

My three other classmates who are EDing Cornell all got interview requests (we live in Silicon Valley so tons of alumni), but I still have not gotten one yet. Is it on a rolling basis? Or since I didn’t get one yet, I’m not getting one at all? They did submit their apps before me (2~3 days before) but got their requests relatively quickly (by Thursday). I guess my main question is is it first come first serve when it comes to interviews?

I got the email for the meeting a week after I submitted the xommonapp and I submitted the application early. If you are from a place with a lot of Cornell alumni there will probably be a lot of Cornell applicants there as well. You just have to wait and see.

The process may vary by region, but I believe the university sends contact info of applicants to a regional coordinator who in turns distributes names to the volunteer alum interviewers. It is then up to each volunteer interviewer to contact the applicants.

I realize this does not answer your question about whether or not you will be contacted for an interview, but it will not be held against you if you are not contacted. Check your junk/spam folder also, just to be certain.
