I recently just received an email asking if I would like to meet with a CAAAN volunteer from Cornell. However, my friend, who applied to the same school of Cornell and goes to the same school as me, never received an email. I was wondering why I received the request and he did not?
He may have been assigned to a different volunteer who hasn’t reached out yet.
It also doesn’t mean anything one way or the other. Not everyone gets the “informal meeting” offer. People get in without them, so your friend should not be concerned that they didn’t get one if they never get called.
Cornell is predicting only being able to reach about 50% of the applicants. At this point the number of applicants completely eclipses the number of alumni volunteers doing interviews. Tell your friend not to worry!
