Are CNAS majors REQUIRED to take years of math at Riverside?

Hi there! I'm an incoming freshman for fall 2014 and I'm planning on taking Calculus II (otherwise known as Math 9B at R'side) over the summer! My major is Biochemistry and all I need is up to Math 9B to graduate. If I were to take it over this summer, would I be required to take an additional math course once I'm actually at Riverside? Because I hate math so much and it would just totally suck if I had to take ANOTHER math course past Math 9B if I didn't even need it to graduate!!! :(

Please answer ASAP! Thank you in advance!! :')

You only need to fulfill the graduation requirements as far as the school is concerned, so if you’ve finished through 9B then you won’t need anymore.

If, however, you plan to go to med school – an educated guess based upon your major – then you do need to take a full year of college mathematics. I am not sure whether this is 1 year in residence at UCR or if community college classes count towards it, but if this is your plan you’ll need to take at least two more math classes after you take Calc II.

For med school you need one year of calculus and at least one introductory statistics course
