are C's really that bad?

my first year of college I got around 4 C's, due to the fact I had no direction in college or plan of transffering to a UC, this summer and fall semester so far I'm kicking ass and I'm most likely going to get all A's. With a 3.0 gpa, which UC's could I possibly get accepted to, I have good extra curriculars, and hope to write really good essays. I Want to go to UCSC or UCSB

and also, do you think I could possibly write about this in my essay? (I had no direction in CCC until a really good teacher inspired me to do good and transfer to a UC)

i don't think those schools even look at the essay. If you have a 3.0, try and sign a TAG agreement with those schools.

TAG is over isnt it

well its worth finding out

so your overall gpa is 3.0? Or what? You could get into UCSC but it depends on what's your major is and overall gpa is with those C's.

Sign TAG for Winter if you have to. But in most cases if you have above 2.8 and complete all the things as if you had signed a TAG those two will accept you.

With a TAG you can also go to UCSD, without it would be slightly harder.

But UCSB and UCSC are both matches for you, but are safety if you TAG
