Are courses taken at a college weighted the same as AP classes or IB? I have been studying full-time in a dual enrollment program for the past two years and am curious on what my UC GPA is.
They are weighted the same as AP or IB and max out at 8 semesters weighted credit.
Transferable college courses are eligible for the honors +1 points like high school AP courses are.
@ucbalumnus Do you know if courses are transferable if they were part of a joint associates degree/high school degree program? By school contract I have to complete my associate degree requirements to get my high school diploma as well. I don’t think the classes I am taking towards my associate are considered “high school requirements”, but I DO need to complete my associates to get my HS diploma… I read somewhere that college credits can only be transferred if they are not part of a high school requirement so I am not sure if my college credits will still be considered as transfer credits.
If the college is a community college in California, you should be able to look up http://www.assist.org to see if the courses are transferable, and/or https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist to see which a-g category each course is in.
Some (usually private) colleges do not accept transfer credit for college courses taken while in high school.
