Are Earplugs Allowed During the Test?

Just get skin-colored ones and they'll never notice.

But if they DO notice, you just lost $40. It's not worth it.

sdkdol: I am congratulating you on making a possible conspiracy out of this :)

When I took one of my subject tests, I distinctly remember a student sitting at the desk right next to mine. His watch was on his desk, and the proctor didn't seem to care. At all. But yeah, if you get ear plugs that aren't very visible, you should be completely fine.

I did the watch on the desk thing too on the SAT I/II Math IIc, but after the ACT said no, I just stopped doing it on the SAT II Physics.

um may i ask why its that important for you to use earplugs anyways?

That is kinda an obvious answer. I want them because they look stylish....no, I want them so I hear nothing during the test.

Aside from the conspiracy theory (just kidding btw... :D)

Do you have hair long enough so that they won't even care? There are those semi-transparent ones that my mom uses for swimming. I haven't noticed them once out of all the times we went swimming together. I think also, they're long and skinny so that they fit right into your ears so that no one can see them unless they try to look -inside- your ear. My mom got them at a swim store.

Those might be good for swimming too. I hate it when water gets in my inner-ear and then you hear it sloshing around as you walk/roll over to go to sleep. I didn't know they made those :)

Sorry, I just had to. Please don't hate me.

Why can't you just put them in after they tell you all the directions?

Is it okay to get jiggy w/ the proctor??

Personally, I think you should suck it up. There is not going to be that much distractions as long as you don't go looking for them. If you twiddle your thumb and look around the class well you're going to get distracted. You need to be able to adjust to your surroundings, an ambulance going by should not throw you off for more than 2 seconds.

Thats just my 2 cents. Overall suck it up and just do well on your test.

well duh, but my point was that there isnt that much noise to begin with ( I think the poster above kinda made that point already though)

by the way i totally agree with the above poster

Answer to post #32??

^ Only if you run around the room four times, pull out a twig and claim that it's a wand, and then say that you'll cast a spell on someone 3000 miles away.
