Are essay scores dependent on the number of paragraphs you wrote?

I'm wondering if essay scores are dependent on the number of paragraphs one writes? Although, CB claims no, I'm reaching this conclusion because however I try my best I always score 10 with 4 paras. If yes or no, what are the best means to score at least 11 coz' I mostly miss several multiple choice questions and score around 600. So I just thought I should improve my essay if I can't improve my grammar.

well, i read somewhere that they KINDA do depend on the no. of paragraphs? heard about the 5-paragraph-rule(kind of rule)? Para1= intro, para2= best supporting example-1, para3= supporting eg-2, para4= supporting eg-3, para5= conclusion. <— this is recommended by many 12/12 scorers.
well, the essay does depend on the SAT words used, and the amount of pages filled?!
passing on what all i know! :)

I got an 800 Writing last time with an introduction, example 1 paragraph, example 2 paragraph, and a very lengthy conclusion. Not sure what my essay score was, but had to be at least a 10 to get an 800. If your examples are from some arcane novel and you draw them nicely together in conclusion, you will get a fantastic essay score.

Thank you :)
