Are Georgetown students more conservative than students at most of the selective colleges? I guess i'm just assuming since it is Catholic it should be more moderate right? Are there conservative groups???

I'd say it's a good mix of both, though slightly leaning liberal, as is the case in most institutions of higher learning.

It all really depends on the batch of people you choose to associate with; chances are, you won't come across and befriend EVERY student in the school--most friends will be from classes, orientation, proximity of residence, or student clubs. The nature of these clubs, classes, and such, then, may somewhat determine the nature of your friends.

it's comfortably moderate. unlike some of the peer institutions, not everyone has the same leftist opinions. but like any college, it is more on the liberal side. remember: georgetown is not just catholic school, but also a jesuit school. ("Jesuit" is not a synonym for "Catholic," in that the Jesuit Order is part of Catholicism). The Jesuits are considered the most liberal of the Catholic priests. Do not fear, the Pope will not be watching your every move, you just have to leave campus to buy condoms.
