Are "mean high school GPA" published by colleges only of core courses+foreign languag

My gpa is only 3.45 because some courses like Literatura en Castellano (spanish literature), Guarani (Paraguayan language) and a couple more Cs were counted toward my gpa. But if only core courses were counted toward my gpa, it would be 3.93
Amazing, huh? Castellano is actually my native language but the teacher was AWFUL. It is not a foreign language course, it was taught as a native language course since it was in a school in South America.
Anyway, if only core courses are counted toward what colleges publish as mean gpa of accepted or entering freshmen, then the colleges I'd apply to would be very different.
Can you give me some info about this?
Thank you

I’m sure it depends on the college, and, more importantly, what information the college receives from various high schools. For example, at my school, our GPA is based on ALL classes, only sophomore and junior year grades make up our GPA, and we don’t have weighted grades. At my friend’s school, only core classes (not electives) make up her GPA, it’s based on all four years, and AP and honors classes are weighted. So we get similar grades but our GPAs look a bit different.

Bottom line: nobody knows for sure what GPA-related info colleges release publicly. You’d be best served asking the admissions office at specific colleges.

Good luck!

I completely agree with Thebeatlestoday. mrodriguez, your best bet may be to call/email the universities that you are applying to, and inquire about this particular question. They are the only legitimate source.
