<p>So, I took the SAT twice. Here are the scores for each</p>
<p>First try: 2180
Math: 740
Writing: 710
Critical Reading: 730</p>
<p>Second Try: 2150
Math: 750
Writing: 750
Critical Reading: 650</p>
<p>As you can see my individual total score dropped 30 points and my critical reading dropped 80 points. However, my other two scores increased. I want to apply to SEAS. Are my chances pretty much gone because of the huge drops? I wish Penn superscored cuz a 2230 would have been nice :/</p>
<p>You should ask yourself first, would a highly prestigious educational institution founded by one of the greatest minds in the history of the world base acceptance to their engineering school based on a drop in 30 points of a horribly accurate test of student aptitude?</p>
<p>You have nothing to worry about. Your scores should only matter should you improve them.</p>
<p>This would be like saying, should Lebron James get traded off the Heat because he scored 10 less points in one game than the previous…</p>
<p>True, I may be overreacting. However, I am more concerned about the 80 point drop in critical reading than the 30 point drop in my total score</p>
<p>Maybe your subject test scores will make up for the small drop, and they will just overlook it. Did you take math or any science yet? how bout extracurriculars. They claim to have a holistic process now, so if you have some hook they it will more than likely make up for your scores.</p>
<p>All I see is a 2230 superscore.</p>

<p>@caveboy: yes i do have great extracurriculars and my subject test scores are all 780+ (math II, physics, and chemistry)…</p>
<p>@focus08: My superscore is pretty good, but the reason why im posting htis thread is because upenn considers all of your scores and not just your highest scores in each section</p>
<p>Even though Penn doesn’t let you superscore in the sense that you can’t submit certain scores from certain dates, they still take the highest scores from all of your tests. The only reason that they don’t let you superscore is so they can see the other times that you’ve taken it. However, in their eyes, you still got a 2230.</p>
<p>This is straight from the Penn website:</p>
<p>“Although Penn will pay attention to the highest scores from any test or subsection when reviewing a candidate’s application, having the complete testing profile provides deeper insight.”</p>
