so i’m thinking of taking these classes next year (junior year); here’s a background on them… at my school, and many schools in my state we have the AICE program which is college-level classes made by cambridge. AS Level is the 1st level and A Level is the second one.
my schedule next year will be:
AICE Mathematics 1 AS (pre-calc but A LOT harder)
AICE English Literature AS Level
AICE Psychology A Level
AICE US History A Level
AICE Global Perspectives AS Level (research based class, lots of papers)
AP Environmental Science
Spanish 3 Honors
Is that too much? Should I drop AP Environment for maybe a honors science? or should I just replace environmental with APCSP and take science online?
I’m in a predicament!!!
What major do you think you want in college?
Normally US Colleges would like you to take lab-based Biology, CHemistry and Physics. Will you be able to do that?
Do you think this is too hard?
Have you talked to your guidance counselor?
I would replace Enviro Science with a lab science. Your schedule is very challenging. You could drop down a level in something not related to your major if you want to, or you could try it and see how it goes.
I’m not sure what I want to major in yet but it’s not going to be any type of science. I’ve never really been good at it and I don’t like it at all it but I can still pull off good grades. My school offers AP Physics, AP Bio, APES and AP Chem. I have yet to take physics and chem at honors level because I’m scared I will fail. I want to take APES because I can take chemistry honors online (and because the chemistry teachers at my school have a bad reputation of not teaching and being too hard), and APES is memory based. I could also take AP Bio but I think with my schedule it will be too challenging as it is a harder class.
What do you think? Should I take honors physics?
Remember that I have the option of taking chem online and cruise through it and take APCSP in school.
I already took a lab science and a physical science. I have the option to take AP chem, AP bio, AP physics and APES then i could also take honors chem and honors physics.
The problem is that I’m not good at sciences.
Can’t you take regular chemistry or regular physics?
What about taking Precalculus honors if AICE math is that hard and you don’t plan on majoring in stem?
That’d make your schedule
Precalculus (regular or honors)
Spanish 3
Physics or chemistry regular
AICE lit
AICE psychology
AICE US history
AICE Global perspectives
Well then take Precalculus Honors and Physics Honors (although I doubt you’d be with clowns in Physics regular :p). Spanish 3 Honors if offered.
That’d make your schedule
PrecalculusH
Spanish 3H
Physics or chemistry Honors
AICE lit
AICE psychology
AICE US history
AICE Global perspectives
A 7-period day would be very rigorous and would likely keep you very busy.
If you really want to max out on classes, APES or AP CS Principles if you want a “fun yet AP” class on top of all this, or if you want AICE: Design&Tech or Environmental Management or Art&Design or Media Studies…
