Usually I am an A/ A+ student (most of my grades are 95% or above, a couple in the low 90’s, and no B’s) but for my first semester of junior year, my grades dropped a little bit. I am hoping to get into ivies, and I understand that grades aren’t everything, EC’s and other things carry weight too in admissions. I also understand that these are not terrible grades. However, I just want to get an idea, or an opinion on this question: Do these grades still allow me to have a decent shot at an ivy or top-tier schools?
H Pre calc (93%) A-
H Physics (93%) A-
H C++ programming (88%) B+
H Spanish 3 (98%) A+
AP US History (96%) A
AP English Lang (89%) B+
AP Chemistry (90%) A-
Robotics (91%) A-
I will try my absolute best to get all grades that are 95% or above for the second semester. Please reply as your responses will be highly appretiated
no. they aren’t ruining your chances. you’re fine.
Agree but your user name is apt. Why you’d have your sights set on such a small number of schools is beyond me. they are unlikely for you so you may want to expand the schools you are considering.
You still have a shot at top tier schools, especially if you raise those grades this semester. But regardless you should apply to a wide range of schools, since Ivies are reaches for nearly everyone.
ok, thank you very much, and the ivies aren’t the only school im set upon, theres some other schools too , its just that with my grades and stuff I feel as though I probably get in to them so I wasn’t really worried about these grades affecting my chances for those schools. that’s why I didn’t mention them. it’s the ivies I was worried about, but now I know im fine, and I will try my best to raise my grades.
Grades aren’t even remotely everything.
Your grades are fine right now.
