Are my scores too bad?

I am a Chinese student and I took the SAT reasoning test twice. I got CR:590 Math:760 Writing:690 the first time and CR:640 Math:780 Writing:630 the second time.
The SAT2s are Math 2:800, Physics:800, Bio M:710

Are my scores too bad for Harvard???

I've seen such scores make Harvard.

Don't lose hope.

Ummm..that's a 211o which is pretty good. Your SATII average is 770 and your regular SAT average is 703. Your scores are good enough to no hurt your admission but try to get reading and writing at the 700 level to be safe.

They're only good enough if you have some extreme other accomplishments, and I mean extreme: at or near the top of the nation in a science research competition (STS, Siemens) or olympiad. Even then, there's a good chance that you would be rejected because of verbal scores.

I hate to say it, but there's an enormous population of immigrant students with strong math abilities but poor English ones, and Harvard is unlikely to accept any but the most incredible talents. If it's at all possible, immerse yourself in the English language and dramatically improve those scores.

i agree that you'll need some other outstanding achievements to counter your SAT score. Don't lose hope though!

Your Math score and your SAT II scores are very high. If anything, just reemphasize that English isn't your first language (if it's not). This may not be such a helping factor nowadays bc there are lots of immigrant students who still score high on verbal & writing. Do you take AP English or anything? Maybe you can ask your English teacher to write you a recommendation. But yeah, like everyone said, don't lose hope. Overall, your scores are higher than mine.

I am not an immigrant I am still in China...so there are no AP courses here..
What about my chances to other ivy league schools?

They're all different...you won't know until you apply. However, I do agree with others that you would have to have something else to distinguish yourself. I mean, your scores are really high, just not distinguishable in Harvard's applicant pool.
