Season Tickets

Season tickets go on sale tomorrow. Are they worth buying for $185, or should I just buy tickets separately? Am I actually going to go to every single game?

My mom's a little wary about the $185; she needs some convincing.

Most people go to every game...with that said, the hot tickets this year will be MSU #1, followed by Illinois and Wisconsin. Other than those 3 you should probably be able to find tickets to the rest of the games for less than face.

It might be hard to find a student willing to give up their ticket for Utah. Not because it's a big game, but because you'll have been at college all of 3 days, and not many people are going to want to miss the opener.

Is there any incentive to buying the tickets tomorrow as opposed to a couple weeks from now? My open house isn't until the 21st and I don't have $185.

I think as long as you submit your application before the deadline, it doesn't matter.

is it possible to sell tickets? I heard somewhere that you can't sell student tickets or something like that

If a non-student wants to use a student ticket, you have to pay something like $25 to a get sticker "validating" it for non-student usage. This basically covers the difference between the cost of student tickets and the face value of non-student tickets, and prevent students from selling their tickets and making a profit off of the student discount.

You pay for credit hours and sometimes you pay for other education opportunities at Michigan.

Michigan Big Ten Football is a GREAT experience, even if you don't LOVE football. Especially for your first year. It is so much fun! If you wait, you may end up in a section other than the student section (Daughter found that out last year). There are "ways" to get into the student section but not so easy for the first game as a 'Freshman'.

Go Blue!

where can we get the tickets? im a transfer student and they havent sent me anything yet

As easy as that! : )

can i join random groups even if i dont know the people
i mean like i dont know anyone at UM much so I dont know if they would want me in their "group"

yeah, how are we supposed to know what group we want before we've even met anyone?

people going from your school
old friends
you can always be seated randomly

Okay, so I've decided to get season tickets.

Is it better to buy them alone or to join a group?

I'm OOS so I don't really know anyone, but on FB a LOT of groups are popping up. I know there's one that has 90 kids already and I guess if I were to join one, it'd be that one...

Thoughts?

Doesn't matter that much. There's enough fluidity in the freshmen part of the student section where you should be able to sit with your new friends, even if they aren't in your seating group. I joined a seating group with some people I met at orientation, and never saw them at a single game.

So if I buy tickets closer to the deadline will I be penalized in any way?

I just bought the tickets without choosing a group...i will be randomly assigned to a freshman section still correct?

last year, lots of the freshman were actually put by themselves not in the student section (they were around families, etc.)

LOL it's going to be fun watching Utah beat Michigan.

better to watch Michigan beat Indiana every year...
