Its from the official ACT people, but its from '97. I have it and am wondering if the practice tests (which are previously released real ACT tests) in it are accurate to today's official tests.

not the science..

not the english

probably not the math either, because they've made it much harder than '97

i recently took the ACT and found it to be much harder. the co. needs to come out w/ new practice tests.

I agree. It's gotten a lot harder.

Um, they do have a new book. It's called the Real ACT Guide. It came out in 2004:

It only has three tests, though, so I would also get Cracking the ACT from Princeton Review. The tests are as close to the real thing as you can get.

It looks like Amazon has a Real ACT Prep Guide that came out in 2004, and then one that came out in 2006 that is about 20 pages longer. Does anyone know if the two books have different practice tests?

Why have they made it higher?

They've added Trigonometry and a few "Pre-Calculus" concepts that weren't there in the 97 edition. I believe they made this new change in 2004.

The ACT is definitely changing in difficulty by the year. Remember when there was no science? Today, science seems to be the "toughest" section overall for most. By this change is understandable, however, it seems a little unfair. The people that took it when it was "easy" are now done, while we worry about it getting into the schools we want.
