I heard U of C is where "fun goes to die". Are there any intramurals sports they offer to keep me entertained?

Yup. IM sports are popular in houses and also in some student groups.

This quarter, my house of 55 is playing frisbee, soccer, inner tube water polo, floor hockey, and Midnight Capture the Flag.

My son has participated in football, bowling, broomball and various water balloon recreations of ancient battles.

And, of course, the best sport is coming up - Scav Hunt!

Some of the houses have organized paint ball groups that travel to someplace nearby in Indiana that has both urban and countryside battlefields.

all of UChicago's IM sports are listed at http://athletics.uchicago.edu/campus/index.htm
when i overnighted my host told me that tournaments can get pretty competitive / fun between houses

IM sports are insanely fun. People are genuinely competitive, and the trash-talking that goes on between some of the rival houses is amazing.

There are tons of IM sports. At the end of the year, they tally up the points and award the maroon cup to the winning house - its amazing. Also, you can form independent teams to play in each of these.

P.S.: Everyone is envious of Vincent House, 'cause they are like, well, the dominant force in IM sports for over two years now.
