Are there "dry" parties at BC?

I keep hearing about all the excessive alcohol consumption that occurs at BC, and I was wondering if people actually host “dry” parties where limited or no quantities of alcohol are supplied. I am not a non-drinker, as I usually have a drink or two during most parties. But I refuse to consume excessive amounts of alcohol in a single sitting.

Nominally, I’ve been to parties where people have done nothing other than drink and get wasted. I’ve seen them all.

Any opinions from current BC students?

I want to know about this too.

i would also like to know about this

same here.

does anyone have good answers??

I personally do not drink alcohol, but I still attend parties where alcohol is prevalent. No one is going to pressure you into drinking. You can drink as much as you want or as little as you want. Parties are still fun with or without alcohol.

I’ve been to many parties at BC and there are a mix of drinkers and non-drinkers. Part of the alcohol consumption at BC is driven by the sports (especially football season) where there are alums tailgating on campus with coolers full of beer taht students may be able to cajole a can out of. Part of it is due to the fact that BC police tend to be less forgiving of pot than some more liberal campuses, and so alcohol becomes the lubricant of choice. But I’d say there is not an issue at BC where if you are a non-drinker then you feel ostracized or out of place. I am a 2-beer girl, and I never have any issues at BC parties. My friends at BC are a mix of party drinkers and non-drinkers. Nobody has ever complained about either state.
