are there fitness rooms at residence halls?

do residence halls have any type of fitness rooms? like a room with some treadmills, weights, etc.

I believe only a couple of them do, consequently theyre usually crowded.

Many residents just go to the Wooden Center on campus to work out with that equipment. Or go to Drake Stadium, also on campus, where theres a track.

yes, but not good ones though. There are a couple treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes but that’s about it. Like 5-10 machines in the fitness room (which is often shared by 2-3 dorms). If you want more selection for cardio, or if you want to do weights at all, then you would have to go to Wooden Center (unless you have your own dumbells). The fitness rooms in the dorms are usually crowded anyways. Its really only ideal if you’re doing physical activities which don’t involve exercise machines (i.e. dancing, push-ups, sit-ups, using dumbells, etc.). Drake is also a nice place to go for running. Or if you’re more daring, then take a run around the entire campus :)

If you are into outdoor running, this site has some nice routes

[UCLA Bruin Runner’s](<a href=“Student Organizations | UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement”>Student Organizations | UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement)

The small exercise rooms can be found in DeNeve and Rieber. Of course no weights since they may be easily stolen.

About the only thing the res hall fitness centers are good for is getting in a little run when its pouring out.

Really though, hit up the Wooden Center for weights and a large selection, although it’s pretty much always crowded.
If you want some good runs, take Sunset East or West - East takes you over to Holmby Hills and the Playboy Mansion (I’ve seen a few of the girls before) and the West takes you into Brentwood across Sepulveda and the 405.

That’s why we don’t have weights? :(

Well, they could always have machine weights as opposed to free weights and that would take care of fixing the problem. So I doubt the whole stealing weights is the only reason

honestly workin out here sucks…im not gonna lie…the res halls have fitness rooms that are filled with a bunch of Asians doing some kind of re-tarded dance-fitness stuff…dont ask me why…also they only have treadmills in the rooms…the wooden center is overcrowded all the time except for tues, thurs at 11am…and its empty on weekends

which residence hall would be closest to the wooden center?

The irony of calling something “re-tarded” is just delicious.

Yeah lots of dancers have taken over the res hall fitness rooms. They even take over the lounges! Any room with reflective windows is susceptible to these dancers.

What do they keep training for!?!

De Neve and Dykstra. De Neve is technically closest to everything on-campus except anything involving residential life (i.e. Bruin Cafe).

However, all the residents halls are a considerable distance away so you wouldn’t be saving a lot of walking picking one over the other. Just don’t pick Hedrick or Hedrick Summit and you’ll be fine.

"What do they keep training for!?! "

Culture night?

"The irony of calling something “re-tarded” is just delicious. "

It would be funny if he/she pronounced it ritard (like Alan in the Hangover)

“the res halls have fitness rooms that are filled with a bunch of Asians doing some kind of re-tarded dance-fitness stuff”

Don’t see how including the Asian part is necessary. I’m assuming you go to UCLA, so you should be tolerant and not that racist?

"which residence hall would be closest to the wooden center? "

Dykstra and DeNeve

elementfool i didnt want it to get that little ‘****’ thing that shows up that’s why i did it you fool
