Are there pre-requisites for certain Majors/Subjects in US colleges?

I'm currently taking Literature, History, Economics at A Level and Mathematics at AO-Level. Am I disallowed from applying to Science courses?

No, but your application to a science program will look stronger if you take science courses in high school.

You don't have to choose a major (an area of academic concentration) until the beginning of your junior (3d) year of college. Before then, it is expected-often required-that you try courses in a number of subject areas including the sciences to help you get a broad exposure to what is available. Higher level courses in most subject areas have intro level courses as pre-requisites and you take those during your first two years. I consider this opportunity to sample different academic fields before choosing one to be one of the beauties of the US system of higher education.

^ in some schools you have to declare a major earlier than junior year, but you can always switch majors (which can be painless or difficult, depending on the school).

Holy mollie macaronni! That's cool! :o

While you wouldn't be precluded from taking science courses in college, getting in is another matter. Did you do any science or foreign language O levels? To some extent, it depends on what type of school you apply to. From US candidates, the top US universities expect to see bio, chem, and physics on a high school transcript, as well as math, preferably through calculus. And history/social sciences, English, and foreign language. Although I'm sure they understand that the British system is different in its early specialization, I would think that the expectation of lab science and foreign language in the student's HS background would not be waived. The web sites of schools that interest you may tell you more.

Hmm Well i took O Levels but i didn't really get good results though. O Level gradings are (from best)A1 A2 B3 B4 C5 C6 D7 E8 F9 (to worst)

I did

Mother Tongue (Foreign Language) - A2
English - B3
Mathematics - B3
Pure Chemistry - B3
Combined Humanities (Social Studies + History) - B3
Geography - B3
Higher Mother Tongue - C6
Pure Physics - D7

Kinda regret not studying hard then but I'm trying my best for my A Levels now.
