<p>Yeah^ If you are passionate enough you can get into most schools…depends on scores as well.</p>
<p>those aren’t really hooks (except first gen is a little better IMO). They’ll give you a boost, but won’t get you automatic acceptances. True hooks are things such as nationally and internationally ranked athletes, musicians, actors with actual credits behind them, etc.</p>

<p>@APsooof except for URM doesn’t guarantee anything. URM is specifically designed to help those that come from less opportunities, so if its obvious that you are affluent or have had lots of opportunities, you won’t necessarily get that boost. They are “hooks” but aren’t in the sense that they don’t cause you to be an almost automatic acceptance. Hooks are something colleges need and are looking for. If you have it and meet reasonable standards, they’ll accept you.</p>
