There are a few of these multi college info sessions coming up in our town. There is a combined Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, Duke one and a Rice, UCh, Brown, Cornell , Columbia one. They meet in a local hotel. What can we expect out of these? Worthwhile?

You'll get a 15-min. power point slide show from each admissions rep, than they will be set up at tables around the room so you can get some general literature from the ones you like...also sign a card to get more info from each school (shows your interest in the school in coming to the session and asking for more info, if you think the school puts some weight into that over the length of the apps process). Coffe, pop and cookies to boot.

Nothing too much in depth, but an easy quick look at peer schools in one stop...really just starts you down the road to researching any school that attracts you there.

I went to one that had reps from Harvard, Georgetown, UPenn, Duke.....
I found it helpful only because it was at the very beginning of junior year and I had just started in-depth research into colleges.
It got me looking seriously at Duke especially, which I really hadn't been considering before. If you're already well into the college search, it's probably not of that much use...if you're not, it might be nice to go just to sort out which top schools you like, which ones you'll want to look into further.

I went to the U Chicago/Brown/Cornell/Rice/Columbia one. I thought it was helpful because I was considering all of them except Columbia. It really helped me compare the four schools; I only liked and eventually ended up applying to one of them. I mainly went because those schools only came to NC during the joint info sessions.
