duke, gtown, harvard, penn stanford: Exploring College Options

brown, cornell, columbia, chicago, rice: Exploring Educational Excellence

johns hopkins: Hopkins Undergraduate Admissions :: Explore Hopkins Information Sessions

anyone have any others?

I initially underestimated how valuable these can be, but my D went to Exploring Educational Excellence as a Junior and really got a tremendous amount out of it. Seeing the presentations from the 5 schools back to back really helped her differentiate qualities that she cared about in schools and it made it much easier for her to make her overall list.

I agree - I think they are very helpful to see if it’s worth while visiting the college and making the whole trip.

What I meant to imply, is that seeing 5 colleges differentiating themselves back-to-back, is useful for identifying differentiating some qualities that ANY schools may have, not just the 5 that are presenting. For example urban (Columbia, Chicago, Brown, Rice) vs. Rural (Cornell), or core (Columbia, Chicago) vs distribution requirements (Cornell, Rice) vs no requirements (Brown).

^^ agree - i think these make it easier on us families who may not have time to get to everything but may be interested.
